When I cross the bar
I pray I leave with a smile.
Children and grandchildren round my table.
I pray I’m never forgotten
My name sang over and over
In the lips of every student, artist and poets
I pray I make an impact like Mandela and Luther King.
I hope I would put a smile on the face of little children
Give light to those tamed by darkness
Show love in the midst of solitude.
I pray I marry a beautiful lady who loves my weird life
I pray I give her the life she has always dreamt of.
I pray I set a worthy example to the younger generation
So they believe they are kings and queens with power in their voice.
I pray I help raise my fatherland, my continent to greater heights.
If I fade at a young age
If I fade without fulfilling my dreams
Then it would be a universal truth
He who the gods love dies young.
